The 85th meeting is hosted by the Institut für Informationsverarbeitung of the Leibniz Universität Hannover.
Logistic Information
From Hannover Main Station by bus no. 128 towards "Peiner Straße" or bus no. 134 towards "Bus Depot Süd" directly to Hannover Congress Centrum. Distance: 10 minutes. Ticket can be purchased from driver.
From the airport Hannover-Langenhagen by urban train ("S-Bahn") No. S5 to Main Station ("Hauptbahnhof"). Continue from there by bus No. 128 towards "Peiner Straße" or bus No. 134 towards "Bus Depot Süd" directly to Hannover Congress Centrum. Distance: approx. 35 minutes. Please purchase ticket for whole journey from ticket vending machine on train platform at airport (press 100, price is 2,70 Euro).
Local Transportation
Transportation from your hotel to HCC (or any other place in Hannover) is easy with a good public transport system (Üstra) using the subway, which leaves at least every 10 minutes.
It is recommendable to buy daily tickets for 1 Zone for 3,80 Euro.
Flights
Hannover Airport (HAJ) is a very user-friendly middle-sized airport. It offers a nice mixture of "classic" and low-cost carriers. It's easy to arrive and to depart, very good transport to and from airport.
The easiest way to get from the airport to Hannover city (12 km) is to take the "S-Bahn" (press 100 at the ticket vending machine), which leaves at the airport every 30 minutes and costs 2,70 Euro. Taking a taxi to Hannover city centre will be about 25 Euro.
Facts
Weather in July
Summer, of course, is a favorite time for visiting Germany, the weather is generally warm. However, you should always be prepared for a little rain and it can sometimes get very hot and humid but generally, Germany in the summer is pretty temperate and hundreds of outdoor cafes and beer gardens open for the season.
Money
Germany's currency is the Euro. For current exchange rates, you may see http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic. Major Credit Cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops.
Tipping
Tipping is not customary. It is at your own discretion and generally only for exceptional service.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted within public buildings and is not permitted at all on public transport, including domestic air flights.
Shopping Hours
Most shopping centres are open from 9am to 8pm Monday through Saturday.
Banking Hours
The banks are open at least from 9:30am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
